Ramblings and Goings-On

Well, I know you are just dying to know what I've been up to lately. Let's get to it.

My first novel is finished!  Well, it is finished to the point that I've got some folks looking it over and editing it for me.  Once I get that straightened up, I'll be ready to take the next step and venture forth into the realm of finding someone in the publishing world to take a look at it.  Should that fail, I will turn it loose on Lulu.com and go the self-published route.  Frankly, that has not been quite successful for the short story collection, so I'm hoping to have better luck with the novel.

Having said that, I think I am going to start writing another novel and more short stories as well.  As I have read over and over, many successful writers are those who write prolifically.  I want to turn my writing from "when I'm not at my real job" to it being my "real job!"

I have been on a kick, a mission as it were, to find this one song I remember hearing in clubs in the late 80's/early 90's.  The song I am thinking of is instrumental (so far as I can remember).  I found "Blue Monday" by New Order and remembered that song was often played near the "Railroad Crossing" song (as I've come to call it).  For some reason, I had associated words with the song, and ended up finding "Policy of Truth" by Depeche Mode.  As soon as I heard it, though, I knew that was not correct either.  And so, the quest continues.  One day I will find the song. I will!

Any DJ's or club music lovers that happen by are welcome to chime in. This would be around 1988-1990. The song has a dance beat and is mixed in with a slow railroad crossing bell sound.
